Dr. Abhishek finished his integrated BS-MS degree from IISER Kolkata in 2016. He was the recipient of the INSPIRE fellow during his BS-MS. He obtained PhD in Physics and Applied Physics from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2020. During the doctoral study, he discovered the elusive excitonic phase in two-dimensional perovskite materials that provide record efficiencies for light-to-electricity conversion in solar cells. His work demonstrated the application of excitons in designing an ultrafast terahertz modulator with 50 GHz modulation speed for emerging 6G communication. He did his postdoctoral research on “Silicon Topological Terahertz Photonics for 6G communication devices” at Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT) Singapore.He joined JNCASR as an Assistant Professor in August 2023. He is affiliated with International Centre for Material Science (ICMS), New Chemistry Unit (NCU) and School of Advanced Materials (SAMaT)
Samina Mulla
Education: Samina received her primary education from Kanya School, Nipani, Karnataka.She completed her BSc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from GIB College and went on to pursue her MSc in Physics from Rani Channamma University Belagavi ,Karnataka.She secured University gold medal in M.Sc. Physics. She is the recipient of DST -INSPIRE FELLOWSHIP.
Research interests: Her research interest is to study the topological phase of light and matter and utilize it developing novel solutions for disruptive applications. She is fond of reading self-help books in her free time. She loves cooking and trying new dishes.

I am Arjun Pr, a proud native of Kasaragod, Kerala. My academic pursuit led me to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala, where I completed my post-graduation, earning an Integrated MSc in Physics in 2023.
I did my Master’s Thesis project at Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT),Indore, India.
Currently, I have joined the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) as an Intern under Dr. Abhishek Kumar.
Now I am actively engaged in the realm of Terahertz Science and Technology under the spectroscopic investigation of emerging quantum materials, where I focus on Photonic Crystals.

Currently, I’m a Research and Development staff at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) under Dr. Abhishek Kumar.
